The election process of Jawaharlal Nehru University students’ union(JNUSU) has been set in motion with the appointment of a chief election commissioner, a woman for the 1st time along with the constitution of a poll body. The name of the CEC was proposed by the Jawaharlal Nehru University students’ union(JNUSU) and has to be unanimously accepted by the election body, members of which are selected in the general body meetings (GBM) of various schools in the varsity.
The election body, comprising of the chief election commissioner(CEC), along with members from various schools of JNU, met to decide the dates of the election and results. The process of filing nominations begins tomorrow and the final list of Students will be declared on September 1, followed by a press conference.
